PHYS 450 - Advanced Laboratory Techniques
Advanced Laboratory Techniques Irregular. Prereq.: Permission of Instructor Study of laboratory techniques and experimentation in areas of current research interest in Physics. Areas may include a) the 400 KV Van de Graaf accelerator, particles detection electronics, and a study of induced nuclear reactions, b) Laser radar instrumentation, optical atmospheric sensing, and a study of laser light scattering in the atmosphere, c) Materials properties instrumentation, data acquisition programming, and a study of properties of materials, or d) other areas as appropriate. One three-hour laboratory per week.
